Posted on other forum and wsa suggested I post question here. Anyone know if m6 wheel with paddles will fit onto 08 650 with sport automatic or if different wiring is necessary for shift paddles to work? Was hoping it was an easy mod. Any info appreciated.

I posted in a different forum who to contact to get the loom to make the paddles work.....
I think EVERYONE wanting to do this should learn to use search function on the forums..... on bimmerfest I am replying to posts on this when there are topics on this easily found ..... With pictures of the M6 steering wheel on my 6.... and the mutliple others on Bimmerfest and e60 with the same pictures.... I don't mind answering questions, but ones that are asked purely because they didn't use search is taking the P..... Also cross posting Q's over multiple forums is annoying as many members are members across all boards. |
Guess you woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
FYI, the info you posted was not accurate for my situation. The photo to which you refer clearly shows a car with a steptronic transmission, which is quite different from the sport automatic transmission (for which I was seeking information). Unlike your steptronic transmission, the sport automatic already comes with paddle shifters - but, they work DIFFERENTLY from the paddles on the M6. Also, the individual to whom you suggest I contact was not able to help. Hence, the posting of my question on a different forum. Sorry if it took too much time and energy for you to read the same title line in different forum.

It was not just aimed at you :) if you look down the pages on both forums there are alot of repeats you could still post your question in one of the other threads,
Try reading through this site http://www.mrpaddleshift.com/index_after.htm Thank you! Now that was useful post. I sent the company an e-mail to see if or when the kit would be available. Their website says the kit for the e63 is "on-hold". Hopefully it will be available soon. Cheers! |
I've done quite a few paddle shift retrofits so far.
so just to clarify... you currently have paddle shifters with a sport steering wheel but want the M steering wheel with M paddles correct? feel free to email me at support@aftermarketbulbsshop.com |
