Took my car out for a nice drive on Sunday, with the top down, cruising at 80 until I noticed a nasty smell coming from the engine. Thinking it was nothing big, I kept driving and ran into traffic, got out of gear and it happened! I couldn't get back into gear... Finds out my clutch is totally done with, it's a Sunday and BMW is closed and is approximately 50 miles away. Had to get my car towed back home, wait til Monday comes around and to find out, "the clutch is only cover under wear and tear." (1 clutch is cover under the maintenance package)

So now I'm biting my tongue waiting to hear from the SA and hope he'll do what he can to get that covered! So in other words, buy your warranty and pray it all works out! Hope ya had a better weekend than I did!

If your car is pre-certified there are times that BMW will do a one time good will repair. Your approach on the subject could make a big difference and they may honor the repair.

Good luck.

It all depends on how the clutch goes out. Wear and tear is covered under maintenance, hopefully that's how mine went out!

Major drag! I had the same thing in a 911 once--not a good feeling. Good luck on the call.
