I was driving back after a late night meeting with my friends and I met this black 650i coupe. So long story short, I raced him from 60mph all the way til 150mph and at the end he was about 2 car lengths away from me. The difference was pretty significant. Is that normal?? Worse...I had the jump on him...
sorry wrong section...dunno how to move this...

Hmm...I've seen numbers that show the opposite; that the 5-series is a bit faster. Forgot where I saw it but it was in the same magazine so the test would have been consistent/comparable.

The only advantage the 5 has over the 6 series is areodynamics, as the 5 has a lower drag coefficency than the 6. The advantage a 6 series has is less weight and slightly quiker gear ratios ( discussed on this forum in the past week somewhere) so 2 car lengths sound about right.

im just remembering when i compared the 545 vs the 645 that there were a couple of hundred pounds difference, i believe the 5er weighs out at over 4K lbs fully optioned while the 6er is already fully optioned......one of the big additions in terms of weight on the e60 was the comfort seats, i think they're quiet heavy
