Hi

Today whilst driving the airbag and seatbelt light appeared on the dashboard with an error message on the Idrive telling me there was a problem with the system and that I should take it to a BMW dealer. At the time I did have a passenger in the car.

The car recently went into BMW service for a parking sensor fault via the non BMW dealer I brought it off and it had "some" recall work done (I do not know what this work entailed).

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem ? is there a common problem ? is there anyway to reset the system without going to BMW ?

Many Thanks in advance

Mark

I think I got this same message too one time, but I waited to see what happens the next time I turn on the car. Since then, it hasn't come up again. Don't know what caused it tho...

Year is 2005, so would be covered in this recall I presume, I will find out what recall work BMW did last week and see if there is a coincidence that this has just happened.

Many Thanks

Hi just read it again and it seems only the 2006 6 series is covered, will give BMW a call to check this anyway.

Kind Regards

you sure? I believe the recall also included the e60/ 5 series...
"The recalled BMWs include the 2004 to 2005 5-Series standard and sport seat models, the 2004 to 2006 X3 and the 2006 3-Series with sport seats."

"The warranty extension covers the 2006 6-Series, 3-Series with a standard seat, 2004 to 2005 Z4, 2004 to 2006 7-Series, 2006 X5 and 2004 to 2006 5-Series with a comfort seat."
