Nice collection of 8s. Where was the meet? Sounds like fun.
So, you're going to get a stable mate for the 645? What's the difference between a regular 850 and a Ci and a CSi?

Yes a BMW bud. Need to split my seat time as I hit 40k miles right at 24 months in my 6er. But in reality it was a BMW Car Mag article back in '04 that put me on the trail of the "Sharks" The e63 was the easiest to acquire and let me have a taste of what BMW can do. But in truth I lusted even more so for the 8. Just beautiful in my eyes.
V12 8s in three flavors not counting Alpina and Dinan efforts. Some truly rare Alpinas in Europe - total of 154 build in 2 versions.
# Built - Model
20,072 - 850i = 5.0L M70 engine
1,218 - 850Ci = 5.4L M73 engine
1,510 - 850CSi = 5.6L S70 engine and worked over by BMW Motorsports (technically an M). Only 6-sp manual and special body and interior.
Now in truth the Ci badge did get attached to some late '92 5.0L equipped 850s but most chose just to forget about that and split them the way I listed them.
And I assume you are aware that there is a V8 8 badged the 840. That came in a couple of versions - a 4.0 then 4.4L engine. About 7,800 built. The V8 was an attempt to promote sales but after a short burst really did not save the 8s and 97 was the last year in US and '99 was last production year in Europe. So all told only30,612 built world wide (includes some 830 which little is known about).

My Ride: E61 535d Apr 05. UK spec + Media Pack, Luxury Pack & Visibility Pack
Judging from the 3rd car in the line in the second pic, you weren't the only 6er there... (it looks like an E24 M635CSi, or am I wrong?)
