650i Loaner Car...Can this be?

So maybe I'm comparing apples to oranges here, but I just drove home a '07 650i convertible loaner car while my '08 550's brakes/tranny are serviced via a software update. All I can say is WOW 
, this thing is fast. Faster than the 550 in fact. Is this possible/expected? Briefly checking the specs on BMWUSA.com, it appears the 0-60 times are faster for the 5er (comparing Steptronics in each because the SAT still reads TBD.) So am I crazy, or maybe my 550 has more problems than I think

Sweet loaner. To me it is comparing apples and oranges, however interestingly enough 2 weeks ago I had my buddy's 6spd 645 convertible for a few days and it most certainly was faster and sounded meaner than my 6spd 545. So you are 100% accurate when you report WOW

My dealership, which is one of the largest in the country, doesn't even give 650's for loaners. They have a couple of 550's, but that's it. And I thought getting a 335 was nice.

I doubt the 400 pounds (200 kg) heavier 650i cab is faster than your 550i.
