My Ride: 11 550i Sophisto Gray/Oyster Black/Anthracite, Sprt Trns, DHP, IAS, SP, PP1, PP2, CWP, HUD, DAP, AVSP, SF RS, CA, ACC - Euro Del
Two different cars in two different price ranges. If money were no object and I needed 4 seats then the M5. 2 seats and less money=645. Two great choices. One is not better than the other. It goes back to your needs.

My Ride: BMW M-Power
Just not a fair comparison.... comparing a regular Valvetronic engine to the S-Model ///M Power Engine.
Also, if you consider all the perfomance parts that BMW puts on the M cars, there is just noway you can pick the non-m-cars.
a lil' know fact is that the M6 will actually have appx. 50 more HP than the same engine powered M5. Appearently, BMW is favoring the M6 as the flagship performamce car of the brand

645i - I already have an E60. What's an M5 going to do for me anyway - get me up to 120kmh a couple of seconds quicker?

The M5 will have all the power you ever need, not just 0-60, but all through the range, and do 205mph. Corner with supreme handling. And the fact its basically a supercar that can seat 5 in confort. What more can you want. The 645 only really has 2 seats, doesn't look as good, handle as well, or go like the M5. M5 just does everything better.

I still reackon the next M5 will be a diesel, a big diesel, and they have to design a lot of things in the trasmission, to handle the torque though.
