going to be changing my car next few months......dealer reckons the 630 is more than adequate and no real need for the bigger engine......i presume the engine in the 630 is the same is in my e60...and im more that happy with that....any thoughts???????

I love my 645 (power and V8 sound), but have never driven a 630.
If you have a choice I guess go for the 645 (or even 650, M6 might be out of the question?)

I have had both. For me the 630 was the better. I don't drive fast, but the 630 was an excellent engine and very economical, it also had the benefit of making the car handle better.
Regards

i have the 650 and would really consider the 630 if available in the states. i waited almost 3 years for the 6 to come and gave up. i really dont need the v8 power and the liter engine should really help the cornerinf in my opinion. both are great cars you cant go wrong with either.

nonononono.....wait for the 635 if you are going for the 6 cyl, the 630 is a dog as compared, you can chip that TT engine and gain a serious performance bump

....the 6er is not a car to drive slow, and not a car to be considered as economical....its a performance car needing a proper power source....

Drive a v8, and compare it to the inline 6, you definately know the smoothness, power, feel, and sound of it... really nice .... next one is going to be a v8 for sure. maybe thats why the new m3 is going to be v8.
