I sat down with a New Car sales advisor to spec out a GT.
There is a mini brochure and dealer systems have bene updated with the models and options.

Launch Date in the UK confirmed as OCTOBER 2009 with only 2 or 3 units likely per dealer till end of 2009.
So I guess if you like what you see, get your orders in quickly.
Orders will take 1 month to delivery in most cases.

Was impressed with the high level of STANDARD kit:
- Glass Panoramic Roof
- Reverse Camera
- USB connector
- Front and Rear Park Distance Control
- Professional Sat Nav

Was less impressed that there was no:
- Limited exterior color options [5] Non-Met White, Sapphire Black and 3 shades of Grey
- Only one diesel engine: 530d
- M Sport model unless you order the ?2500 Dynamic Package which added 20" wheels and sport suspension basically

Without going crazy, my spec came to ?47,000.

One would think they were trying NOT to sell the car based on the limited options list!

Thanks for taking one for the team.

Initial reaction overall is not that great based on the forum discussions. I'd like to hear some real experience from actual owner. Keep us posted.

The first one's specs.

As we all know, the first units of any car model are not as good as they will be.

Not a bad price for a car of this size.. I do get te feeling BMW will be adding heavy discounts to this car in about a year from launch
