My Ride: 2008 BMW 550i 2006 BMW X3
Default

I don't know about it. It looks too much like the X6 which already has contreversial looks and a limited market. One downside of the X6 is it just feels so big and bulky when sitting inside, plus the rearward visibility sux. Even if it has a great driving experience, I don't know if its a car I'd own.

Second, if in the market for something with more utility than a sedan, why get that when a 5er touring or X5 gives so much more room and utility? I like my X3 for utility. I can carry my bike upright in it or a large TV box, or whatever. The sloped back of the GT prevents big stuff from being carried in it.

Bottom line, I think BMW is going overboard with niche vehicles. Especially in today's market, they'd do so much better (at least in the US) by expanding on what they already do well (1 Series 5 door, more diesels, 335i touring, refreshed X3 or X1, etc). I think you'll see less & less overall sales of $50k plus vehicles.

Once again, it seems to be too much like an X6, 5 wagon, 5 sedan, X3, and X5 too, why such OVERSATURATION within this niche???

The Concept model had 21" wheels, I wonder are those 20" or 19"?

Remember that the GT is a much larger car than the E60.

No. Front's too flat, rear's too high and flat = ugly.

Horrific. What is BMW thinking? They are creating niche vehicles for niches that either don't exist or are perfectly well served by more mainstream vehicles in their line up. I'd take a 5er Touring over this abomination any day of the week.

And BMW wonders why it's losing money...

+1

BMW is headed down hill quick. This is getting comical.

Only recent release I like is the new Z4. But it has just been confirmed no M-version or M-coupe will be built.

What has happened to my beloved brand.
