My Ride: BMW E60 530i
Default

Personally, I never liked BMW vehicles and only liked Ferrari and Aston Martins until I saw an eagle-and-futuristic-looking car in 2003, the E60 5 Series. I NEVER loved a car that much ever in my life! Mr Bangle did an AWESOME job with the E60. It was the most successful revolutionary design cue ever done in the automobile history!

After that, I started seeing into BMWs and I have to say, I didn't quite like the 1G E65 7 Series, but in 2006, when the 2G 7 Series debuted with the improved rear lights, I loved it so much that I persuaded my parents out of buying a Mercedes Benz S-Class and bought an E65 2G 740i Luminance Individual!

I seriously wish that Mr Bangle would return back to BMW because the cars that are entering into the market - the 5GT and F10 5 Series, although the latter was made as an evolutionary cue from the E60 - I do not have that hype! Mr Bangle's design is very very lasting with time. I am one of the many BMW fans that think that the E60 5 Series with M-Sport Pack look actually newer in design and fresh than the F10. I seriously don't understand the front headlights in the F10. It just seems a bit lost or confused. The F01 7 Series was an instant evolutionary cue success to the E65!

And by the way, Kia is not from a "third-world"! South Korea is in top 10 OECD countries for export - including their automobiles and eletrical appliances! I'm sure YOU own at least one, if not several, of Korean products! They're not from a third world country! And Kia is selling much better than the American cars because their design cues - if you have a look at their cars, especially the Cadenza, it's a straight tweak of BMW and recent Audi design cues.

I seriously hope that the next revolutionary designs for the 5 Series will be as adventurous and make an 'artistic' impression as Mr Bangle has done!

To be honest, I wish he would return to BMW! As one of our members have already mentioned, he is probably the biggest reason why BMW has become the best selling premium carmakers from early 2000s!

He'll definitely be remembered!

You really have no idea, do you...

Bangle was still at the helm when the F10 was designed, and when the F10 design was approved by BMW management.

Given production lead times, not only the F10 but also some future models to come, will still essentially be a product of the Bangle era.

More to the point, as an evolutionary and not a revolutionary design, the F10 has more than just a "hint" of the Bangle legacy - it is Bangle's legacy.

I love reading well educated posts like this, just makes my day.
