The BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo combines three characteristics, the one is a very elegant design, the second is the personal space this vehicle gives his owner, and the third is an unexpected functionality this vehicle has. And if you would compare it with a SUV, you find probably personal space, you find functionality, but you don't find an exceptional elegance.

During the development phase the 5 Series Gran Turismo has been called "Progressive Activity Sedan" and the 5 Series Gran Turismo therefore doesn't fit into the traditional categories. The 5 Series Gran Turismo furthermore combines an elegant design, an unexpected functionality and personal space, and this makes this vehicle so unique.

Personal space means the comfort I feel really in this vehicle and this is when entering the car I don't have to climb in and I don't have this very low seating position like in a typical sedan. So the seating position is basically in the middle between a typical sedan and a sports activity vehicle which gives you specific comfort also in driving. If it comes to the rear passengers, it is the legroom which is really extended which is even more than in a classic 7 Series, but also the headroom which is in the range of a typical BMW X5. And all this together makes for me "personal space."
