BMW M3 and M4 at the Detroit Auto Show
The 2015 BMW M3 arrived at the 2014 North American International Auto Show with two fewer cylinders, but the addition of two turbochargers definitely make up for the M3’s cylinder-ectomy that happened when it transitioned from E90/92/93 to F80. The new M3’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight six produces 425 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque … that’s 38 percent more than the previous M3’s 295 lb-ft. Of course, the M4 (being an M3 coupe in reality) gets the same engine.
The M3 and M4’s pricing has just been leaked by BMW Blog. The F80 BMW M3 will start at $62,000, and the F82 BMW M4 will be priced from $64,200. The M3 is expected to arrive in U.S. showrooms in June, with the M4 arriving around the same time.
