BMW 1 Series Sedan and M6 Facelift Spy Shots Featured

Here are your latest spy shots for the BMW M6 and the new 1 Series sedan. Let’s begin with the M6, shall we? Mourning the loss of the legendary Joan Rivers, the M6 decided to pay tribute with a quick nip/tuck to the face and the rump … and by now if you’re wondering if Rivers ever had a cameo on Nip/Tuck, I’ve got the answer for you: season 2, episode 16.

Anyhow, it appears the M6’s facelift will be a minor one, as there is little camouflage bandaging to cover the scar tissue. I think Joan would have approved.

Moving onto the 1 Series sedan, excuse me while I raise a blood-red sign of protest. No BMW should be a front-driver. MINI could have expanded its lineup by using a car like this. A front-wheel-drive 1 Series only dilutes the brand. Boo.

Our spies say a 1 Series five-door hatchback and a three-door hatchback will follow the sedan’s 2016 debut. They also say the next-gen 2 Series will be front-wheel drive. Not only does that overwhelm my disbelief meters, but also I refuse to believe that shit. BMW has a good thing going with the rear-wheel-drive, non-Active Tourer 2 Series. You want to talk about diluting the brand? A front-wheel-drive 2 Series coupe would be like putting whipped cream into salsa. Yuck.

The rumor mill goes into overdrive when the spy talk moves to a FWD Z2 Roadster. If there is any truth to that one, BMW has lost all credibility with me.
