Slo Mo Guys Use 2 Series For Science
Have you ever wondered why you don’t get wet in a convertible when the roof is down and you pass through a rain storm? But then, as you slow down you immediately get soaked? It’s one of those things that you always take for granted, and a question that definitely should be looked into more.
Well, The Slow Mo Guys from YouTube have finally taken up that very question and made a video to help us understand what the physical forces are that keep you dry while moving. Luckily they just happen to have a new 2 Series convertible and some seriously hi-def cameras to help complete the experiment.
As you can see in the video below, the car’s aerodynamics are actually coming into play when you are moving through the rain. The glass windshield acts like a buffer that sends the water droplets further back behind the car and completely over your head. However, when the car slows, the aerodynamics slow and the water droplets hit closer and closer to you until you’re soaked. SCIENCE!
