When you start to think about hot rods or restomods, you’d normally associate those terms with classic muscle cars or classic sports cars. However, overseas, more and more people are taking classic commuter cars and turning up the proverbial wicks to make absolutely insane creations. Chief among them is this 1962 Skoda Octavia.

In 1962, the Skoda Octavia was your average commuter car. It was small, economical, and used a 1,089cc engine to provide 42 horsepower for its get up and go. This Skoda Octavia though, isn’t powered by 42 horsepower, but rather by a 250 horsepower V8 engine ripped from an E39 BMW 540i.

In addition to the new powerplant, which is already being considered for forced induction, the car received a full rollcage, a slightly wider body, and 18-inch wheels. All in all, the car only weighs 2,640 pounds, and with its 250 horsepower, it can really boogie. Now, slap a few turbos onto the V8 and you’ve got yourself something truly ludicrous.
