Even Grander: Sleek New Gran Coupé Completes BMW’s 4 Series Range
New 4 Series Gran Coupé is Longer, Wider & More Spacious
5.9 inches longer than the car it replaces at 188.5 inches and also 2.1 inches taller and subtly wider. That brings enhanced interior space, five seats and a larger 16.6 cubic foot trunk (1.3 cubic feet bigger). The 4 Series Gran Coupé rides on a wider track than the latest 3 Series saloon too.
Featuring new chassis technology with two-joint front strut and five-link rear suspension, the newcomer also benefits typically BMW 50:50 weight distribution for a sporty character. It gets mode-specific variable sport steering, lift-related dampers, 18-inch alloy wheels and M Sport suspension.
The AWD M440i Gran Coupé has an electronically controlled rear differential, which is optional on the 430i. An M Sport Pro trim package adds 19-inch wheels, a rear spoiler, M Sport seatbelts and multi-mode suspension that adapts to suit the current driving style, and M Sport performance brakes. A range of M Performance Parks will be offered.
New M3 Gran Coupé Arrives in November
Designed to be easily told apart from its closely related 3 Series siblings, the 4-series Gran Coupé will all be offered with BMW’s 10.25-inch digital instrument display Live Cockpit Professional. The new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé is due in the US in August.
