Monday is for M: A Rare Look at the E90 BMW M3 CRT

Last year at a BMW M 40th-anniversary press event, Evo Magazine got to experience the ultra-rare BMW M3 CRT (Carbon Racing Technology) — only 67 were produced. The M3 CRT is basically the sedan/luxury version of the E92 M3 GTS — the CRT loses the GTS’s roll cage and four-point harnesses, but gains top-of-the-line amenities like a premium sound system and navigation. The M3 CRT is friendlier to scales by about 100 pounds compared with the standard M3 Sedan. Combine the CRT’s decreased weight with a 4.4L V8 producing 444 horsepower (that’s a lot of fours for a 3 Series), and you have one of the best M3s ever made.
