Meet the BMW i4 M50: The First EV With an M Badge

All-new BMW i4 M50 will get adaptive M suspension and will offer around 310 miles of range.

BMW i4 M50 is notably one of the most anticipated electric vehicles under the M line. The upcoming I4 M50 will be the first fully electric vehicle from the German automaker’s hallowed M division. The dimensions of the EV are quite similar to the 4-door 4 Series Gran Coupe, which it is based on.

The specs and performance figures of the M-badged EV paint an exhilarating picture. BMW claims that its 544 HP EV can accelerate to 62 MPH within 3.9 seconds, which is impressive. The car is powered by an 80.7-kWh battery pack, which BMW claims can deliver around 310 miles of range in its most capable spec. This is just 48 miles less than the Tesla Model 3.

The battery pack of the i4 M50 sends power to a pair of BMW M eDrive Engines. The automaker’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system completes the all-electric ensemble. From what we already know, BMW is trying to raise awareness about the car by releasing teasers. The company recently released teaser on its official YouTube channel. According to the video, BMW i4 M50 will get performance, agility, and driving dynamics that we have come to expect from an M division offering.

Customers can get around 87 miles of range by charging the all-new BMW i4 M50 for just 10 minutes.

BMW is also offering consumers a wide range of options to customize their vehicles. The automaker has over 120 paint shades to choose from. Customers can also choose from a variety of leather and trim options. The BMW i4 M50 is also available with an optional carbon fiber package.

The automaker is also offering a wide range of features for the interior, which includes a curved screen that integrates the driver right into the “driving process”. Speaking of driving experiences, BMW enthusiasts tend to desire the tantalizing exhaust notes of internal combustion engines, which EVs do not offer.

As a result of this, BMW is offering the i4 M50 with a specific sound to take the experience factor of the latest electric addition up a notch. The sound was composed by Hans Zimmer and Renzo Viale. BMW i4 M50’s sound emulates a V8 coming to life with an electric twist. Although it is a little heavier than regular M3, the immediate power delivery compensated for the extra weight.
