According to Autobild, the next BMW M2 will arrive with a staggering 374 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque. That, ladies and gentlemen, would be immense for the tiniest BMW in the fleet.

The M2 really does have a lot to live up to as well. It is essentially the spiritual successor to the much-loved 1M and the old 2002 ti. The little car is said to use a heavily modified version of BMW’s new 3.0L inline six-cylinder with the TwinPower technology turbo, and will possibly come with both a real stick shift or an updated version of BMW’s own seven-speed DCT.

We’ve been seeing prototypes all around the world lately, so the car is definitely not far from being launched officially. Autobild also states the price might come in at around $10,000 more than the standard M235i, which would be right around the $55,000 mark here in the States.

I hope these horsepower figures are accurate because this car would definitely set the benchmark of performance for years to come.
