Purists might howl at the idea of a turbocharged M3, just as they did when the I6 was swapped in favor of the V8. But while there might be fans who can’t live with the idea of forced induction, the rest of us can take comfort in the fact that performance-wise, the new car should be superior to the outgoing model. In virtually every way.
Of course, there’s the problem that turbocharged cars just don’t sounds as good as their naturally aspirated brethren, but the new motor actually sounds pretty robust. Check out this clip of BMW’s new baby lapping the Green Hell and let me know if you don’t agree.
