I am thinking about moving up a rim size form the stock 17" rims to a a square setup of 18x8x35ET. I plan on putting on tires with the following specs 255/40/18. Whats your take on that and will there be any adverse effects. I know the manual says the next option for my vehicle is the staggered setup 245 front 275 rear but id prefer the square setup since I had a lot of rim and tire issues with my e46 due to the nature of the roads. Any advice will be appreciated.

What model and year vehicle do you have? I recommend you place that information in your signature or garage so that we will be able to help you better.

So why don't you just go with the 245/40/18 square set up? The 255 set up will introduce about a - 1% speedometer error, but that will help the + 4% error already built in.

I will probably go with what you are saying. I was informed the tires would roll on an 18x8 unless I can get an 18x9..
