Looking for Wheels
Hello,
has anyone ever heard of a company called CM Wheels? I believe they are in Europe. I ask because I'm looking at these wheels and I can't believe the price. They say these are Avant Garde M355 wheels, the new versions not sold in the US. They advertise over at e90Post.com. I can't find anything bad about them. Just curious..
19" Staggered Avant Garde M355 Wheels - Gun Metal / Machined Face - 5 / 6 / 7 Series / E9x M3
Thanks

I don't quite understand your enthusiasm over the price? 640GBP is about $950.00 US dollars and they charge another 240GBP ($360.00) to ship to the US. Granted, I do not believe AG is allowed to sell that style wheel in the US any longer due to copyright issues with BMW, other AG wheels in that size seem to sell for around $1,200.00 shipped from US-based sellers.

Biz I guess my conversion for the euro to dollar is wrong. When I used an online converter it was a lot less than that.. it was 650 to roughly 700 for the dollar. So if your numbers are correct, then your right.. the price isn't that great. But I also asked about if anyone has heard about this company, trying to figure out if the quality of their wheels are good. I know that AG sells other wheels for a cheaper price and ship locally, but they don't sell this style wheel, I guess that's the whole point. I have a second choice for a wheel if these are not the ones I go with..AG M359, or AG M310, or even the Miro type 111. Thanks for the input.

I just got myself a pair of square 19X8.5 AG M310 and they are really nice for what they are. I was going for a set of Miros but they sold out and I needed a new set badly (lost winter set and summer set all in one week from potholes).
Price was 1050 shipped for the wheels alone. They are gravity cast and I'm told of the same quality as Miro and other gravity cast.. so not the strongest, not the weakest. Fit and finish is very nice, they balanced fine. One thing I was told that was different was the lip to mount the tire bead is really low on the inside of the rim. Nothing good nor bad about that.
I was just in my friends shop getting some stuff and a new 5 series with M performance wheels came in, and the wheels actually looked very very similar.

Did you get them from CM Wheels? Thanks for the info. I had a set of used Miro M6 wheels and they were good. But eventually they got bent and then cracked to the point where I had to replace them. I'm hoping I have good luck with these wheels.

So I got my Avant Garde M355 wheels a couple of weeks ago, and I must say.. they look a lot better than my old cheep M5/M6 rep wheels. They are lighter also. Below are some pics.. the car isn't really that clean and these where taken on my Android phone. I'm very happy with them.

I had sent a complaint in about my avant garde wheels. I spoke with Joe at Trinity where I bought them from, and I got forwarded to someone directly with Avant Garde. It has been a few days now and I have gotten ZERO response.
What my complaint is that I found a lot of little pock marks and dings in the clearcoat. I found two little bubbles in the paint as well. When I put the wheels and tires on I didn't catch any bubbles, but the wheels were flawless. TWO weeks later when I put my lowering springs on I noticed all these little chips and pock marks. I'm a bit worried that the clearcoat is really weak.. I would expect to see these pock marks and dings after a year or so of driving, not TWO WEEKS!.
I will update this thread, but right now I'm not happy with Avant Garde and their quality or.. customer service. I hope to hear from somebody soon.. Still the wheels are straight and solid.. have hit a few big road holes and they have held up other than one ding from a deep pothole.

Rice Rocket,
Thanks for the info...I've had mine on for about 3 weeks now, and I've inspected them very closely several times and so far.. i've seen nothing out of the ordinary. I've also hit a couple of holes in the road.. (I guess following too close to the car in front of me) I didn't see. And they are still straight and no vibrations.. bends..etc.. fingers crossed. Good luck man..
