Lots of information here,

I was a little confused that I have to stay with in the 35-45 offset range. But I see some people are running lower offsets. I also heard that going out of the range is when you start to strain some of the components (on the Xi)

I have heard that CKS Coilovers and KW3s are the only coilover option, and the spring and shock route is expensive and you get a really crappy ride. I also read somewhere there was a company that was making coilovers for us Xi owners that were supposed to be cheaper than both of those options, and that they were going to release their line up this Spring (2015). I dont remember what thread I read and I dont remember what the coilovers were called unfortunately.

I really wanted Miro 111's as well with very low offset. But then people started to tell me that its not going to work and then I heard about this range, and now im stuck. I reverted back to looking at OEM wheels for now. BMW X5 wheels etc. Im going to read thought most of this thread once I get more time and maybe find something that will give me a starting point for wheels again.

Billstein makes a "HD" version for the front which does not lower the car. I plan to get these at some point.

So can someone shed some light on the current options? Something maybe under 1.5k?

Or is it still KV3s and CKS and nothing new?

Hey everyone, first post and i just purchased an E61 2008 535xi. I really would like to attempt to put on a set of M6 reps (like below). I see a ton of information and i cant look through all 865 posts, efficiently. Could someone please tell me is i can fit a 20x8.5 +37, 20x10 +33 on my xi? I would greatly appreciate it!

I'm sure some has done that air lowering stuff but most people seem to really "use" these cars so any of that crazy stuff would pretty much ruin the handling and comfort for all but just town cruising.

You might want to use the search function to read up on the coil over kits though. KW I think is the only one who makes something for the rear end of the air suspension wagons. I can't recall if it replaces or blends in with the factory parts.

I dig the super tight fender gap but don't like how lowering only tightens the top but not the sides much. So, I went to larger diameter tires and got all sorts of useful functionality in my traveling in snow and to gravel roads while also gaining that tough look with the tight fender gap all the way around the tire/fender arch.

For M6 wheels, look into the most recent M5 and M6 wheels, not E60 period but the newest F series cars. The offsets and wheel fitting is such that some of them will just bolt right on now. The older styles would not at all due to how different the front ends were compared to x drive cars.

Peruse this to get familiar: Felgen-Katalog - BMW-Treff - der Treffpunkt für alle BMW-Fans und -Fahrer

Its not the case nowadays, im sure you have seen this comparison of the accuair kit vs stock vs KW coilovers..

https://accuair.com/blog/air-vs-coils-european-car

But its still to-each-their-own, but thanks for the reference material. Im undecided on 19s or 20s, and staggered or square.

Thanks again man!
