Just wondering after this forum was taken over , what happened to all the O.G's of this forum? Is there another forum they hang out in.
Don't get me wrong I get alot of questions answered regarding e60 mods still, mostly by PM's from all the old forum member heads. I know we have heard it countless amount of times regarding the 'search engine', but who really uses it. Not I. You cant even do a 3 letter search!
Is it because of the new take over why many older forum members do not visit this forum much anymore or is because of new moderators, vendors etc.
This forum hasn't been as spiffy since I first joined and after Rudy left it seems like it went all downhill from there.

Rudy is still a member here, just not as active due to his personal obligations.
Most of the "O.G's" have moved on from the e60 to other models/brands, so them checking in and posting on this site does not happen as often....that along with a good number of members can contact each other via other forums of communication rather than posting/pm'ing thru 5series.net
Also, a good number of long time members do still browse the forums, they just don't post as much as most of these topics have been discussed, so rather then posting "search" or re-writing something they've most likely answered they most likely just do not post and allow for other members to answer (hopefully). Unfortunately that does not happen all the time and new members/posters end up getting flamed for not searching anyway  but the change in attitude and tone of this forum is another discussion all together.
***at the end of the day, this forum's quality and quantity of information and discussions are only as good as it's forum members make it to be...

If you want better search results, simply go to google, type what you are looking for and put at the end site:5series.net.
Works much better

The search function is not the best, but it is obvious that a lot of new members don't even try.I'm sure that I'm not alone in being tired of the same old questions being asked e.g.what are my tyre pressures, what offsets can I have on my reps, what tyre size can I have, how do I reset the service light, etc, etc. They have been discussed so many times,a search has got to show some of the threads, but it is obvious that some just ask the question as the quick and easy option. It is also obvious that some seem incapable of reading the owner handbook!!!Or,maybe they can't be bothered so they keep asking the stupid questions that we see ,e.g what is this switch?
I am also amazed at some of the replies from people who don't know what they are talking about and,in some cases, have not even read all the posts before adding their irrelevant comment.I could go on,but I'll have another Dram or two and put on some good music.
