1. It does not cause any error codes at all
2. The KN filter is a reusable filter that has a 1 million mile warranty. The benefit is you do not have to ever replace your air filter (you just clean it with water
and re-oil it when it gets dirty). Another benefit is that it provides more air flow which in turn equals more HP. Its a good addition to any vehicle especially one
with a turbo engine. If you add the KN and get an RPI scoop you will feel even a bigger difference.
