I'm curious as to what the prices will be and who will buy a FWD BMW.

Very common. Most hybrids have this feature. And I expect it will spread to most cars in the coming years as a way to increase corporate average fuel economy.

Yea that's very true...but still lol

I think BMW is already doing this on their cars...I can't remember exactly which ones or in which countries but don't be surprised if you see it as soon as the F10 or other "current" models (but maybe not the first year F10's in the USA...

Making a FWD BMW?! Hypocritical move! So bad... 5GT, F10 5 Series... they're crap looking cars... and now this?!
Check out the March 17th article in

http://www.autoextremist.com/

BMW is following Mercedes "a Mercedes in every garage" philosophy. Not good. Developing a front wheel drive platform will take money, talent, and focus from the rest of the line-up.

They already have the MINI platform so there may not be a need for any new development if, in fact, they're looking to go FWD in a sub-compact.

I think they're worried it's the beginning of the end for RWD BMWs but I see no need to panic...
