Hey everyone,

Just wanted to say hello and thanks for all of the quality posts. I'm waiting for my ED 545i to arrive late June.

Congradulations! I would say I got lucky but I just procured an early june build date for a 545. All thanks to this forum!! I found a CA who gave me a good deal, a great build date and would ship my car to my doorstep. Now all I have to do is wait. I should get the VIN in the next few days. What are the best steps to follow the build/delivery process? Thanks

To follow delivery and the build process you can either bug your dealer like I have to or since your car is being built and delivered for US you can go to the BMW Owners Cirlce. As long as you have the Production number or the VIN you can log on and track the status of your car. Congratulations on your orders! Mine should be delivered in about 2 weeks. It will be completed Friday.

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement, I'll call my dealer this week. He started blowing me off soon after I paid for the my European delivery car. My wife tells me I should be bit more assertive, however I don't want to come across as an ANGRY black man. LOL.

Screw that!!! You paid for the car and there was plenty of cash put out for it. He owes you plenty at least until you pick it up. You will enjoy the pick up in Munich. I have been there a few times and that is a very beautiful area. You made a wise choice on the delivery destination.

Congratulations on your choice of vehicle & spec.

just one thing....Arizona ...Cold Weather Package...?

I thought it was pretty hot there, here in Scotland, a 70 degree day is rare and all the papers proclaim "phew, what a scorcher" if it hits 75!

50-55 is the norm.

Doctor D,

I am a soldier stationed at Fort Huachuca Arizona. I will return to my beloved Maryland in November 2005, where I will need my Cold Weather Package. Also, I have spent more than a day or two in your beautiful country. I was stationed at RAF Edzell prior to the base closing. We loved Scotland. My daughter loved staying up until the wee hours because the SUN wouldn't set. We enjoyed Aberdeen, Arbroth, Breechin, Dundee, and Edinboro. Our youngest daughter sat in the Queen Mum's chair at one of the castles we visited. We also met the nicest people, everyone made us feel at home. I also had a good friend who operated a Hi Perf shop in Dundee, he would often take me out motoring in his KILLER Cosworth ESCORT. I believe that car could actually fly.

Thanks for the post and keep in touch,

I'm smiling from EAR to EAR.

I know edzell well, I worked for a short time in stracathro hospital, right on your doorstep.........isn't st cyrus beach really beautiful (and deserted)?

Unfortunately, the powers that be have placed speed cameras all the way up the main dundee-aberdeen road spoiling our fun somewhat!

Enjoy your car...mine's 33 hours away!!!

What's up big sarge? I am an RC SIGO myself. Just finished a year in the sand. You at 11th or NETCOM right now? Headed to Meade next? Drop me an IM if you want. There is also a CW4 on the board as well. He is an AG chief in Germany. Talk to you soon.
