Hello from new E60 owner, aftermarket warranty question
Have not taken possession of car yet, next few days. Clean up and service at the local dealer. Car has 50,400 miles on it, like new, runs great! Cold and Premiem , Steptronic. Should I buy aftermarket warranty and from whom?
Thanks in advance.
Patrick

I figured you'd come up with a warranty.. and price.
In my opinion any aftermarket warranty is not worth the money unless it's catastrophic. I'd pocket the money but be prepared to pay for things or replace them as soon as you have any indication that they will go.
Some people have bad luck.. others have good luck.
I so far have had good luck, whether it's a used car or brand new car, I've almost NEVER had to had anything done under warranty. If it was cheap.. say a couple thousand for 3 years etc.. I'm game.
By my own estimates for any car that's used (and not) about 1K a year is reasonable to average out. Ie oil changes, fluid changes, brake changes. That's all a cost of doing business. Some warranties cover things like brakes.. most won't.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. The warranty companies do have you on the fine print. I think at this point I may skip on the warranty. They may require used parts also.

I did have a friend that had a great warranty that covered everything including brakes. It came from an independent dealer friend he knew so it's their own garage special. Sounded excellent.
Again.. pocket the money, and do the due diligence.. and hope nothing really catastrophic happens. I think in those cases you're screwed anyways.
