I recently purchased the subject vehicle....Los of questions on various features and needed repairs. This vehicle had a sunroof leak, repaired by dealer, then latent corrosion damage to wiring, with wiring harness replaced by a good BMW specialist shop. Also had a leaking tailgate hydraulic pump replaced. No signs of corrosion remain, but a couple things don't seem to work right. Tailgate operation is intermittent. An extra press on a FOB button seems to disable the opening mechanism. The mechanism remains disabled for a long time with the only way to open and close is manually. The latch seems to work OK. A day later the auto function returns. Occasionally the FOB will not activate, but the button on the dash will make it work. There is a hum sound when the open button is pushed, but the door does not lift. I replaced the electronic (HLK) module and rt. side gas strut, with no change in symptoms. I suspect the problem is electrical, and that replacing the $1000 powered strut would make no difference either.
Second issue is the satellite radio which is supposed to be activated, shows the ESN, has been enabled at Sirius, but only shows "acquiring signal" and shows NO channels. Evidently this indicates an antenna problem?? Where is the antenna device? how can it be tested?
Anyone have any advice?

Noticed no replies to this...so I thought I'd jump in and say hi. I have a new to me E61 as well and have been sorting a few things out and reading lots of info in the forums. It sounds like you problems with Sirus and the key fob may be related. Search for Diversity Antenna. They're known to get water in them too.
