Does anyone here like the look of the new A6. I'm interested because like the 5 it's come in for a lot of abuse and claims of "it's better in the flesh in the right colour with the right wheels".
IMO it doesn't look as cohesive as the 5 and has a 1970's type wrap-around dash in some attempt to mimic the bmw look.

Forget the audi.
The real thing always is a rear traction.

I don't really like any of the Audi's, and I like the A6 the least of the bunch. The gaping maw of a front grill is simply hideous, and I don't like the way the cockpit greenhouse is distinguished from the body of the car.
The drivetrains and suspensions can't even hold a candle to BMW, and outside of the TT and A4, none of the Audi's come with a manual transmission. And with all due respect to Quattro, it's still a FWB-biased system, and I _hate_ feeling like I'm being pulled around. I love the feeling of a RWD as you accelerate out of a turn or when taking off from a stop.
Anyway, that's my take on it.

nahhh..i dont like the new A6. I think the car has no special characteristic that 5 series has. the grille is too big and the overall shape of the car doesnt show that it is a new car..the design is just plain like the other audi.
sometimes people said that 5 series is ugly or whatsoever, but in reality..everytime i drove my car, everyone stare on it and give it a thumb. the reality works better than the story i think. ^^
buy the new 5 and you wont regret!!

Hi, I was just wondering that people always said that the 5 Series outperforms the E-Class or in this case also the A6. Besides from all the characteristics of the 5 Series, I was wondering how comfortable and quiet the ride quality is? When I look around the internet, people always state how comfortable it is to be in an E-Class, but I have never really seen anyone state this characteristic in a 5. Could someone compare the 5's counterparts or your past car and how the comfort differs between cars. I would like to know this since I, myself is planning to get this car. Thanks a lot.

I haven't actually experienced the new E Class, or the Audi, But I drove the old E Class, and I now own an E60 530iSE. With regard to noise, the E60 officially has the quietest cabin in its class. Comfort levels in my non sport, 530, with normal (not run-flat) tires is actually more cosseted than my old E200(1998 model, Elegance). Addittion of runflat tires does firm up the ride slightly, but the demonstrator I drove at the dealer (which had 18" runflats) was still extremely comfortable, and I had it for a whole day and drove it 120 miles, and felt as fresh at the end of the day as I did when I first started. What I would say though, if comfort is your number one priority then stay away from run flat tires and sport suspension. Dynamic Drive does smooth out the ride quality as well, if you don't mind Active or Servotronic steering. That's my view anyway, goodluck with your prchase!!

Well, I saw the A6 from different views and the real fresh design is only at the front. From the sideview is almost the same as the old A6 and the rear seems a smaller A8. Also the interior seems kind of familiar with A8. So nothing really fresh.
Cannot stand a comparision with the E60 IMO.
