I need to recode my LMA to change this as my RHD (UK) car is now registered in Germany and has LHD housings fitted. hoping I can sort this myself as my first coding job.

I have a 2004 745i with adaptive headlights. I was told by the dealer that for 2004 the adaptive headlights only move up and down to account for road conditions and vehicle loading. I'm skeptical. I thought for my car they should move sideways in a turn as described in the previous posting. Does anyone know how they are designed to work on the 2004 745i?

And I thought my '08 LCI has a malfunction when testing in standstill position, it did not work moving to the left side, only to the right. Thanks for the info explaining the proper function when car is not moving.

If you have xenon, then there must be a self-levelling system installed (at least in European countries) to avoid blinding others. This is the "move up and down" motion the dealer told you. This is standard on all xenon lights.

Now, the adaptive headlights feature is the option of implementing the left/right movement of the lights depending speed and steering wheel angle. You can easy check it by moving your steering wheel while parked against a wall; the lights will slightly move left-right. This movement is larger while driving.
