My Ride: Stock 2004 BMW 525i
Default Rearview mirror

I have an '04 E60 525i and on the rearview mirror there are three buttons labeled 1-2-3.
What do they do? I was thinking that they are for preset dimming for night driving yet in my owners manual I found nothing about them. So any help regarding their fuction and how to set them would be greatly appreciated. Oh I almost forgot to ask about the red knob. The manual says it can be turned but mine does not turn but that could be a function deleted because of those three buttons, I don't know?

I very seldom drive after dark as glare really annoys me and I also wear glasses so if I can avoid physically moving the mirror that would be fantastic.

Thanks in advance,
Gregg

The buttons are programmable for garage door openers.

Regarding the glare on your glasses I'd recommend you invest in a set of high index anti-reflective (AR) lenses. Ask your eye care professional about this. You'll be amazed to see how these lenses greatly reduce the amount of glare/reflection in your vision, with the greatest benefit observed during night driving.

I will mention this next time. I do not have insurance as I am unemployed and I am now a full time student so the cost is beyond my reach at this time.
