I think reverse wheels are wheels with step lip. I might be wrong. Good luck.

Hi

Reverse Lip

Step Lip

It's called a reverse lip because you're taking a step lip wheel and reversing it. If you look closely at the reverse lip picture, the back of the wheel looks like a step lip.

When you have a step lip, let's say 20", you use a 19" face which makes the wheel lighter than a 20" reverse lip wheel because a 20" reverse lip wheel uses a 20" face.

Does that make sense?

Yes flat lip is synonymous with reverse lip. It's called a reverse lip because you're reversing a step lip.

Mounting is the same. BTW, why not get some DPEs? They will fit a lot better than Volks plus DPEs are forged.

mike
please let me know if i am wrong

from my understanding
regular lip = flat lip (inner and outer)
step lip = step lip outer but flat inner
reverse lip = flat outer but step inner

and step lip normally lighter than regular wheels due to smaller face

inner doesn't matter, you're making this more complicated than it is.

go look at your OE BMW wheel, i'm pretty sure the inner is step too. that's just how wheels are built. stop over thinking this!
