I fear you are right... I look at the X6M and X5M and I can't come to any other conclusion. I think the current M5/M6 mark the end of a generation and will in time be the cars that history judges most fondly. There is also little doubt that the F10 M5 will come with a weight gain, something that will in part explain why the rumored performance numbers are a little less than would otherwise be expected. I look at the current V10, and the amazing power plant in the LFA which can rev from idle to 9000 rpm in half a second, and I have to think that these are the ones that check all the right boxes - insane RPM, instant throttle response, and really only giving their best when pushed to within an inch of their life.
