Another solid month of sales for the F10 with 4,491 units sold (+12% from last month). The E-Class, however, cranked out 5,344 unit sales. For the 1st quarter that makes it 12,624 (+76% over same quarter last year) for the F10 and 13,192 (+23%) for the E-Class.
For comparison sake, back in this same quarter in 2004 (first year of the E60 era), BMW sold 10,328 5ers while MB sold 12,802 E-Class. So the F10 has picked up ground on the E-Class compared to its predecessor model.
Other notable figures from Q1 2011:
Audi A6 1,912 units (+5% from the same quarter last year)
Audi A8 1,371 (+820%)
Hyundai Genesis 6,888 (+24%)
Infiniti M 3,258 (+4%)
Jaguar XF 887 (-53% )
Jaguar XJ 1,255 (+1400%)
Porsche Panamera 1,629 (+10%)
Volvo S60 4,241 (na)
Volvo S80 921 (-55%)

Nice!
I always knew the F10 would do well. I'm seeing them on the road more and more every day.
Hyundai continues to be on a roll.
Surprisingly mediocre numbers for the A6, Infiniti M, and Jaguar XF.

It sort of looks like intra-brand cannibalization. The new A8 may be stealing sales from the A6, while the new XJ may be taking away from the XF? Likewise the hot new Volvo S60 takes sales of the s80? The same may apply to the F10 versus F01?

I also wanted to add that Chevy sold 608 Volts in March, up from 281 the prior month. And Nissan sold 298 Leafs, up from 67 in February. High gasoline prices will do that.

I have to say that I'm seeing more and more Sprinter vans out there these days...
Seriously, they really are nice vans and I do think people are starting to realize that they are far superior to the 1970s era Chevy/Ford van platform...
