Yes, thanks.

I ordered the car with 18" Style 328 summer RF's and the dealer made a deal with his tire dealer and swoop the summer RF's to winter non-RF's.

Now a got the best winter tires for the Nordic roads and are fully free to choose the summers.

Now the problem is 19" or 20", what OEM wheels and what tire brand and from where to buy???

But this is a positive problem, will be solved in a month or so.

Excellent solution. I despise RFTS but the wonderful Hankook Ventus V12 Evo summer tire is between $175-$185 each. If I can't get a F10 in 2012 without RFTs, I will just buy a set of the Hankooks. After all, what's less then $800 in relation to a $75K car (550) or $100k car (M5).

It's not the run-flats that are the problem but the decision by BMW not to include any kind of spare wheel or anywhere to put a spare in the car if you buy one seperately.

I can imagine if you are 300kms from home in Finland in the winter (or any other country)with a flat tyre how will you get the car back home. A flat RFT tyre will only travel 10kms before tearing apart.

The trunk space in the F10 is already small, with a small spare wheel in there, the trunk space will be smaller than a hatch-back car.

I just can't understand BMW logic on this point.

I fully agree. I just bought a new 2010 528I. I told them run flats with no spare were a deal killer. I would go back to Benz or even a Lexus before I would drive a car with no place for a spare. Fortunately that was not a problem with the E60. I am sure the F10 will be nicer in just about every other way, but I just love my new E60. Sweet ride and has a spare!

Yes, there's no space for a spare in the trunk, but a small compartment for a patching set.

It will do with a small spike or screw in under the tire, but a big scratch on the side - and the driving is done.

A pic from my E60's trunk. This set will go over to my new car.
