Looks great. That's on my to do list. Did you mask everything off? I'm thinking it will take a few hours to prep and the it has to sit for at least 2 coatings?

I got a little crazy with my car this week.
<a href="http://s1270.photobucket.com/user/neptunenow/media/F5111080-C973-4530-921A-096B934B6FCE.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1270.photobucket.com/albums/jj604/neptunenow/F5111080-C973-4530-921A-096B934B6FCE.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo F5111080-C973-4530-921A-096B934B6FCE.jpg"/></a>

I was just going to install new Idex 12 injectors but then decided to do a few other things. The oil pan gasket was leaking and I've had all the part plus a new undertray just itching to be installed. I also have a set of RB inlets and a set of RB outlets on the way to test for for the E60 so why not tackle that?
Then I took it a step further and decided to install the port plugs for my RB external PCV system, replace the VC ,oil filter housing gasket and make a new set of DPs.

Interesting image. Thanks for that perspective.

Makes me appreciate how much our inline six leans over like a damned Plymouth Valiant engine! (A very very torquey Valiant!)

RCB - yeah, I prepped forever and in retrospect I would just wax the paint, spray, run a razor along the seam, and wipe the overspray.

Let me know how the DPs work out. There would be interest in a cheaper alternative to the AR's.

How many coats did you do? I'd read a minimum of 4 to 5 coats for areas that don't see too much wear... And a couple more even for stuff like wheels.

The chrome window trim & kidneys need at least 5. The first coat barely adheres since there's no tooth, so you need to build slowly.

I figured it would take a while to do. I need to get on this before winter comes or it's not happening till the spring.
On another note, how is the catch can working out?

I'm curious how long it would take instead to do a vinyl wrap on it. Might be the same amount of time, considering you don't have to tape anything off, and the upside is it would last a lot longer...

Lotus99 - i had some free bavauto vinyl, but I'm a gorilla and screwed it up within 5 minutes. Plastidip is much more forgiving...and it's $7 total with prep materials.

RCB - changing the oil next weekend. I'll let you know how it looks.

Before I go absolutely bloody insane, would some one kindly tell me where the relay for the air suspension is on 2004 E61 525 Diesel estate.
I have changed the air compressor - Simple job, but the pump came with a new relay which the supplier said had to be fitted.
Car battery went dead flat after fitting the compressor. So just to cover all bases I am going to change the relay.
But where the hell is it ?????????

Txting me is probably easier.

Thanks

Neil
