Thanks, but with all due respect I'm 73 years old and have no intention or inclination to go back to university in order to understand all this c--p I just want to be able to look at my water teperature guage every now and again and make sure its stable!!

JB4 with their Bluetooth Link plus an old Iphone lets you create a custom screen that has 3 or 4 gauges. I set it to display Boost PSI, Water Temp, Oil Temp and Trans Oil Temp.

what engine? E61s were fitted with several different engines, especially in Europe.

I had a quick look at the thing on amazon and it looks a bit complicated, also it says it is not compatible with an I phone so I would need to change my phone as well. I can't understand why a company like BMW would produce a car without a temperature guage unless they just simply forgot.
Whatever their reason they certainly have'nt endeared themselves to me. I should have stuck to Volvo.

Hi
Mine is a 2004 E60 sedan in Japan
I have a temperature guage on the dash on the right hand side of the taco.
You can see it as a rising and lowering bar next to the red line section of the taco
I will get a photo tonight
three bars is the normal operating temperature

After much faffing about with these annoying ads I finally got the engine typewhich is M57/T2 if that tells you anything!
