Tailgate wiring - again....

Tailgate wiring - again....
I just fixed the wiring loom (the on ging to the tailgate itself, not the glass window) on the passenger side (right side when looked at from behind), and four wires was off, while additional two or three wires was badly damaged. Anyways, I got it fixed, but I'm left wit some questions:
1. I suddenly get permanent warnings for the license plate lights. I have not changed the bulbs yet, so hopefully that will fix it, but I thought that the computer had different messages for "not working" bulbs and e.g. loop faults?
2. The rear wiper still does not work. It didn't work before the repair either, but I thought that the wires powering it was in the loom I fixed. Does anyone know if it may be in the wiring loom on the oposite side?
3. The last problem I've had, is the soft locking mechanism for the tailgate. The motor is working when pressing the "button" on the tailgate, but it does not activate when closing. That's very annoying, and the result is a tailgate which is constantly making noise when driving on bad road or over bumps.
Thanks in advance!

Not sure how much help this might be, as I don't know if the rear wiper has wires in the other side, but you might have to look at its motor or switch. The latter I know quite a few people have had to deal with.
The soft locking mechanism I doubt is related to the wires. Its motor is in the latch, where it sort of rotates to pull down the hatch as part of the soft close. I know mine wasn't working at some point, and that's what the dealer explained when they fixed it.

As for the switch for the wiper motor, where is it located?
The soft close mechanism is a mystery, since the motor is working. Is there any sensors detecting when the tailgate is closed?

I had a similar problem, the lock would not detect that it was locked and in the end it was the wire loom at the left side (looking from the back) that goes to the lock.
