PowerTrain can bus BMW530xi (E61)
Hi.
I am trying to read the PT can bus (500kbps, wires red and blue/red) of a BMW 530xi (E61).
I use an Arduino, a can-shield interface and a "crocodile" to read the can signals without cutting the wires. I can already read well the K-can bus (100kbps, wires yellow and black) with this system , so I am sure everything is working perfectly.
I cannot turn on the car where I am testing it because the combustion gas would turn on the gas alarm and cannot play outside because it is well below zero .
If I check with a scope the signals from the PT-can, just inserting the key but without turning on the car, I see a lot of pulses (~0.5msec, separated by 750ms), like they are a wake up signal and the real communication doesn't start because the engine is off.
Is this hypothesis correct?
Under the hood there is a number of twisted pair wires that I don't know what are about: green with blue/green, yellow with blue yellow, white with blue/white.
Somebody knows what are they about?
Thanx in advance
