I'm had to replace a burnt out bulb and I'm amazed at how it was ever connected in the first place. The left side is actually pretty long - but the plug on the right side goes to where it would be with the little assembly in place, but no further. My theory is to try to take out the rear lift switch - whatever it's called - and then push on the plug through that opening.

All my searches for rear switch all point to the glass release (which I already had to do, thanks 5series.net)
