Microfilter
#1
My car ('06 530xiT) is telling me that it needs its microfilter (cabin?) replaced. Is this something that I can do myself and reset the alert or do I need to bring it into BMW?

Hi, welcome to the board.
Cabin air filters are usually something on most cars you can DIY. Have you checked the owner's manual for it?
Having said that, I take it you didn't do a search first for "cabin filter" or "microfilter"? Search is often your friend. (Most mechanicals in this car are the same as in the sedan's in case you weren't aware.)
Here's a few of the hits I saw. I'm sure there are more with info if the first one doesn't have enough. I saw a video in it. There are two filters, one on each side. Good luck with it.
