Just got an electrically troubled 2006 in silver for a bit of a deal since it has higher miles and a number of electronic issues. My first BMW as I've been a Saab guy the last 15 years.
Got my Carly in the mail yesterday and did a read codes and reset to see what sticks, but most were things I already knew about.
Anyone want to critique my plan of action? (Since you are just sitting there waiting to get out of the office on a Friday before christmas)
Remove rear hinge covers and spoiler, check harness wires and repair/replace as needed, check and rebuild/replace antenna booster as needed. Takes care of 00ABCA, and maybe 009D12 as well as my lack of am/fm radio.
BST already tested and has good low resistance, so check and replace/repair negative battery terminal, and battery. Might fix 002DED, 0093F9, 0055D0, and 0054C8.
Looks like 3 bad PDC sensors. Might try some cheap chinese ones on ebay to see if they work at all. Will not be fixing at $200+ each. Could swap a good one from the front to the back.
RIght headlight got backed into, (That PDC sensor is also bad) headlight is intact but one mounting point is broken, and adaptive no longer works. Take apart and see about fixing, maybe just replace. Hopefully can find used, $1200 new.
Worry about Heating/AC AUC sensor in the summer (009C54), $75, seems like an easy fix.
One error I didn't expect is "Air suspension failure Code: 00A3C7". But it looks like that is pretty common and might just be a split hose. Will need to get in there and check it out.
Oh and I get some water in the back, but I'll work out the issues with that and probably the sunroof drain. Also rear brake lights are overloading the ground contact. Need to solder in a little support there.
