No idea about the tinting, thats how it came from the factory!

yes its on standard suspension which I believe is 15mm lower on UK M Sport versions. It looks lower due to the offset of my wheels which effectively brings them closer to the wheel arch making it look lower.
Thanks for your comments.

Can I ask how the car feels and handles compared to the 18 inch wheels (particularly ride comfort on non RFT's?) as I am considering changing my wheels to spider 172's.....Cheers

You've responded to a thread that is well over two-and-a-half years old, so you're not likely to get much of a response, I'm afraid...

Especially from someone whose profile says showed "Last Activity: 03-05-2014"

Regardless, going from 18's to 19's, especially ditching run flats too, I can't imagine you'd feel that much of a difference.

Well I am still here although not been around for a while. I actually sold the E61 over a year ago but I can comment as follows:
When I changed from 18" NCT runflats to 19" with Falken 453 conventional rubber there was minimal difference apart from the car stopped tramlining. I then got a deal on a set on style 128 19" staggered with Michelin Supersports and the ride was transformed, much better than the 18" NCT's and quieter also.
In summary if you are going to 19" make sure you use premium rubber to get the best results.

Thanks for your reply, currently running standard 18 inch wheels on my M sport E61 with non RFT Uniroyal rainsport 3 tyres which give a surprisingly comfortable ride. If I were to go for 19's think I would stick to the same tyre in the hope that the ride would not be too harsh.
Just need to save the pennies now as even 2nd hand, the 172 spider wheels ain't cheap here in the UK !

Forgot to ask if you had a link to the company in Germany where you bought your spiders!
Cheers

Hi Puppy

I have a E61 535D M Sport highly modified but running standard suspension ride height and fitting 19 inch 172 spiders From the saloon 245/35 fronts 275/30 rears non runflats using 15 mm spacers on the back to stop scrubbing the inner arches , is one of the best mods I have done it transforms the car dramatically , the turn in and body stability is greatly enhanced
I've done about 60000 miles with no issues regarding wheels bearings
If you can find a set of original BMW ones as they are a little stronger than the copy ones
It's something you would not regret and the car looks a whole lot better also

All the best

Humbley
