Was curious how much our cars are worth by looking at KBB...what a joke. 8-10k for trade in? Private sale isn't much higher. Maybe it is because no one wants a BMW in Montana, but damn that feels low. How much do you all really think is a good price?

My Ride: 2008 BMW 535XiT Sport Wagon
I paid 10k for mine, 08 with a couple options (comfort seats, sport pack, HUD). 99k miles when I bought it not too long ago. It's not perfect though, needs oil pan gasket, has waste gate rattle and some minor paint issues. Bought in Boise.

All good points above in addition to the sheer numbers of the 5 series produced coupled to the fact that older buyers that usually buy a 5 series would rather error on the side of caution and get something with a warranty. If you add in the station wagon demographic, some of those buyers tend to be even more cautious and less risk takers. Also couple that with a design that is essentially 12 years old and looks that part, and you can see why prices are where there at.
It seems totally opposite of the 3 series though, where it attracts more younger, care-free risk takers, with even an older '08 3 series with the weaker I6 NA motors going for more than a twin turbo 5 series sometimes.

A 535 wagon is one of the rarest cars on the US market, but I agree with the rest of it.
Looks are a personal thing, but I think it looks better than some of the newer Japanese wagons / CUVs on the market. Not to mention that my 8 year old wagon handles much better than them as well.
