Window trim removal- to drive without it?
I am thinking about having my trim professionally painted to mimic the shadowline factory trim. I have a 2009 LCI E61 and want to know if removing the window trim would allow for the elements to enter the cabin. I know the rear quarter windows might present a challenge for trim removal. My though is to remove the trim, drop off at the shop, and reinstall once painted.
Can the car be driven withou worry of water entering the car without the trim?
Thanks in advance.

Wagons have a rear quarter window as well which, I am told, can have its trim removed as well without removing the window. Definitely get a set of plastic trim tools if you don't already have. They are very handy and a great and inexpensive investment.

Running without window trim
I'd like to remove my window trim including rear cargo area trim to drop off at a paint shop. Would running without trim allow elements into the cabin.
If I end up going this route I'll post on trim removal of cargo area window as that does not appear covered much.
Thanks in advance.

I've done this on my e46 touring and based on the looks, it looks similiar and you shouldn't have any issues running without it for awhile.
However a word of advice would be to either get them powder coated or vinyl wrapped(preferred).
I had my last set painted and they weren't that durable and didn't last too long.

Thanks for the response. Powder coat may be an option. I thought a pro automotive paint job would live up to the use.
I'll post final product.
Thanks again.
