How to manually open 2008 E61 520D Rear Window
I have been looking at this forum as I have two problems.
1. I get a warning at startup that the right reversing light is faulty; it is not as the bulb has been tested.
2. The rear windows does not respond to the remote or the button on the window, and remains locked.
I believe that problem is possibly due to a break in the wiring, having read a number of posts.
Note : In (1), when reverse is selected, there is no power going to the bulb; the connectors are fine.
In order to solve (1) & (2), I need access to the loom to locate the break, but I cannot get the window to open.
Is there a way to do this without doing damage to various bits ?

I have already looked at that post, but I am afraid it did not help.
At this stage I cannot even get the panel open as much a he did, and I do not want to damage it.

You can open the panel without breaking something. I loosened the tailgate rear lock a bit. You unscrew one torx screw and you find it behind the small plastic trimpanel (size about 2 x 3 cm) on the panel in front of the rear lock.
When the rear lock is loosened, you can bend it down a bit (about 2 cm) and pull down the panel. It worked fine for me!
