Hi There,
Has Any one Else had problems with the Glass tailgate unlocking & opening on its own.
Mine started doing this Yesterday when I started the Engine the Glass window opened. It Now does it every time I start the Engine or open the passenger door and today as I was driving down the road it decided it was just going to open and lift up all on its own. The first warning I got was when the parcel shelf suddenly shot back which is quite frightening when your driving along. took it into my local dealer who says they have never come accross this before so they want the car for a week to see whats going on.
ANY IDEAS

Also my 2005 E61 525d only averages 34mpg which my dealer says is within bmw parameters! I Dont Drive Fast and always try to drive with the needle around the 50mpg mark.
Any Ideas

Be Gentle with me as I am New To This

Had a simular problem with the glass tailgate.
My dealer changed the microswitch to the lock and the problem was solved!
15min operation!

Yeah, I had the same problem last summer. However, the dealer made some kind of adjustments, and now it works perfectly again! although the repair guy managed to mess up the luggage floor...

All Sorted Now! Microswitch changed. They also changed the tailgate lifters as they had started to get lazy and not lift up the tailgate completely and as always gave the car a clean for good measure, pity they couldn't sort out the fuel economy problem though.
Managed to get it up to 40mpg by sitting on the motorway at 56mph.
Not what this car was designed for!!
