Yes we just had a huge storm come through N. Calif. you would think my E61 would be ok. All is not well, the passenger side carpets are all soaked. When I opened the passenger doors I can see water draining out of the doors. thinking those little buttons were the door drain, I moved them in the dark thinking it would help. Next morning, the only thing I found was that the real front door drain , though clear, is covered by the rubber weather stripping of BMW. Rather an odd design when there are only two drains for that large door to have one of the drains covered up by their own door seal. Should we just call that a stupid design. My other car, another German marque, has six drains in the door.

I next checked the spare tire area for water ingress, but all was dry. Thank god. Its been repaired twice by the dealers due to the rear roof drains clogging up. My question is where are the two rear drain's outlets? I understand they are behind the wheels, but I can't see them. What panel of panels do I have to remove to gain access?

I think the next storm is due in a few days. Hope to have this done before it arrives.

Are you wondering about where the panoramic roof drains exit? There's 4 of them. Two for front, and two for rear. Lots of info in the forum if you search. Try posts by me as well. I recently wrote up some tips how to test them. The front ones drain midway up the door jambs, by the hinge, IIRC. It's obvious when you pour some water in the pano drains and watch the water drip out some tubes.

The front ones are easy to find and test. It's the rear ones that I can't seem to locate on the wagaon. It appears to drains over the rear inner fender.

the plug that BMW put in that clogs must be behind the inner fender... They couldn't make it too easy to clean.
